Capitals Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Nic Dowd
Washington Capitals forward Nic Dowd has been picking up significantly over the last few weeks, and it seems quite likely that he will be moved before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passes because of it. Due to this, let’s now go over three teams who could look to bring him in over these next handful of weeks from here.
New York Rangers: The Rangers are going to be on the hunt to bring in some help for their bottom six before the trade deadline passes. He would be a strong addition to their fourth line and work nicely on their penalty kill. Because of this, he’s a player who the Rangers could look at.
Colorado Avalanche: The Avalanche are likely to look to add more forward depth to their group before the playoffs. Their bottom six could certainly use a boost, so they stand out as a club that could make a push for him. He would be a great addition to their bottom six and also would become one of their top penalty killers if acquired.
New Jersey Devils: The Devils are another club that is likely to pursue bottom-six forwards before the deadline passes. Dowd would be a great addition to their group, as he would fit nicely as their fourth-line center and immediately be one of their most important penalty killers. With that, he would provide them with another veteran who could help mentor their younger players, especially during the playoffs.
We will now need to wait and see if any of these three clubs land Dowd before the deadline passes from here.
