Red Wings Rumors: Detroit Looking to Improve Specific Position
After a strong start to the 2023-24 season, the Detroit Red Wings have struggled mightily as of late and now are desperately trying to stay in the playoff race. Due to this, they are exploring the trade market for options to improve their roster. According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, one specific area that they are looking to make better is their defensive group.
In a recent article for The Fourth Period, Pagnotta had this to say on the matter: "Add the Detroit Red Wings to the long list of teams looking to improve their blueline. Man, they could certainly use a defenceman like Filip Hronek right about now."
When looking at how Hronek has played with the Vancouver Canucks this season, that is certainly a fair argument to make.
The Red Wings added multiple defensemen to their roster during the offseason, including Shayne Gostisbehere, Justin Holl, and Jeff Petry. However, with the way they are playing right now, it makes sense that they are looking to add some depth to their group. Perhaps their biggest need is a minute-munching defensive defenseman who plays a heavy game.
We will now need to wait and see if the Red Wings add a defenseman in the near future from here.
