Seattle Kraken's Joey Daccord Makes NHL History
The Seattle Kraken were victorious in their much-anticipated Winter Classic matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights. With that, history was made in the process, as Kraken goaltender Joey Daccord put together the first shutout in Winter Classic history in the club's 3-0 win over Vegas.

Daccord stopped all 35 Golden Knights shots and led the Kraken to their fifth straight win. With that, Seattle has now gotten at least a point in each of their last nine games and are starting to show some real life in the playoff race.
Daccord has been on real fire as of late, too. As NHL insider Frank Seravalli shared on X, Daccord has an outstanding .945 save percentage in 11 appearances since Dec. 2. With that, he has earned points in nine of them, which includes four straight wins.
The Kraken had serious goaltending issues this season before Daccord's emergence, and he has been quite the feel-good story for them because of it. Now, this historic Winter Classic shutout only makes this great run from him even more impressive.
In 23 games this season, Daccord has a 9-5-8 record, a 2.35 goals-against average, and a .919 SV%. The Massachusetts is having a real breakout season at the perfect time for the Kraken.
