St. Louis Blues Forward to Miss Time

The St. Louis Blues will be without one of their forwards for a while, as the club has announced that Kasperi Kapanen will miss the next four weeks due to a lower-body injury. The Blues have also placed him on injured reserve.

This is not ideal news for the Blues, as Kapanen is a solid part of their bottom six and is able to move up in the lineup due to his overall versatility. However, with him now being out for the next four weeks, the Blues will be forced to adjust their roster.

Kapanen has had a bit of a tough season offensively during the 2023-24 season thus far. In 42 games played, he has six goals, nine assists, and a minus-6 rating. However, even with his lower offensive totals this season, the Blues are going to miss having him in their lineup because of his two-way play.

With Kapanen now being out for the next few weeks, the Blues have called up fellow forward Adam Gaudette. Gaudette has been on fire this season in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds, as he leads the league with 24 goals in 37 games. With that, he also is third in the league in points with 36 on the season.

Gaudette last played in the NHL during the 2021-22 season with the Ottawa Senators, where he had four goals and 12 points in 50 games. This is a great chance for him to show the Blues that he can still be an NHL-caliber player.
