St. Louis Blues Make Series of Roster Moves
The St. Louis Blues have made some roster moves. Winger Jakub Vrana has been called up to their NHL roster, forward Nikita Alexandrov has been sent down to the AHL, and defenseman Justin Faulk has been placed on injured reserve.
This Vrana call-up will certainly grab the attention of Blues fans, as the skilled forward was placed on waivers earlier this season and then sent down to the AHL. His demotion was due to his very poor start to the season, and he picked up a lot of steam in the rumor mill following it. Now, he will be looking to heat back up with this great opportunity in front of him. In 19 games this season with the Blues, he has two goals, four assists, and a minus-5 rating.
Alexandrov has played in 10 games with the Blues this season, where he has zero points and a minus-2 rating. The Blues selected the 6-foot-2 forward in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, and he will now look to make an impact in the AHL in hopes of receiving another call-up during the season.
As for Faulk, he last played on Dec. 29 against the Colorado Avalanche and has missed a game since. Due to this injured reserve placement, he will now miss at least of action, so the Blues will now need to adjust without their key defenseman in the lineup from here.
