Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Placed On IR
The Toronto Maple Leafs have placed forward Bobby McMann on injured reserve (IR) due to a lingering undisclosed injury.
McMann, 27, has appeared in 23 games this season with the Maple Leafs, where he has two goals, seven points, and a minus-4 rating. He also has spent time in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Toronto Marlies this campaign, where he has two goals and an assists in six games.
When dressed by the Maple Leafs, McMann has primarily played in their bottom six on their fourth line. As a result, with him now being sidelined, the Maple Leafs are losing one of their bottom six options. Yet, the hope is now that he will be good to go for the Maple Leafs after the All-Star Break and not have to miss too much time.
With McMann being placed on injured reserve, the Maple Leafs now have a roster spot available to activate Tyler Bertuzzi.
In 33 career NHL games over his career, McMann has two goals to go along with eight points. Here's to hoping that he gets the chance to improve upon these career stats soon and does not need to miss too much time from here.
