Young Flyers Forward Popping Up In Trade Discussions Again
The Philadelphia Flyers just recently locked up Owen Tippett and Ryan Poehling to multi-year deals, but concern still surrounds Morgan Frost. He has had an up and down season and it has been tough to adjust to the playing style head coach John Tortorella wants from his players. He is back in the lineup and doing well right now on the second line, but that hasn't stopped the Flyers from discussing a trade involving him.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period said that Frost's name has popped up again on the trade front and he believes that the Flyers have engaged in trade discussions. They are still willing to move him in a talent-for-talent type of move. He also noted that he doesn't think a trade will occur before the deadline, as this type of move may be better suited for the offseason, but anything can happen.
The Flyers are falling quickly, so this might change the plans for the team. After trading Cutter Gauthier for Jamie Drysdale, a defenseman, they do need more young forwards than young defenseman. Maybe the best course of action is to find a team that has a similar type of forward, possibly with more grit to his game, in need of a change in scenery. It won't be easy, but it appears as though that is where things are headed with the Flyers and Frost shortly.
