2 Players Placed On Waivers

The Chicago Blackhawks have placed forward Zach Sanford on waivers, while the San Jose Sharks have done the same with defenseman Jacob MacDonald.

Sanford, 29, is certainly no stranger to the waiver wire, as the Blackhawks claimed him in that fashion earlier this season from the Arizona Coyotes. Since joining the Blackhawks, he has three assists and a minus-3 rating in 15 games. Meanwhile, during his brief stint with the Coyotes, he had three assists and a plus-3 rating.

Teams looking to add to their forward depth could consider claiming Sanford. This is because he has a decent amount of NHL experience and can work in a bottom-six role. With that, he has an easily affordable $800,000 cap hit.

MacDonald, on the other hand, has appeared in 22 games this season with the Sharks, where he has a career-high six goals to go along with an assist and a minus-6 rating.

Similar to Sanford, MacDonald is another player who could generate some interest due to his cheap cap hit. Teams needing a little more depth on their blue could take a flier on him because of it.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two ends up being claimed off the waiver wire from here.
