3 Teams Come Up In The Mix For Flyers' Laughton

Scott Laughton has received a ton of attention ahead of the trade deadline this season, but the book is still out on if the Philadelphia Flyers are going to sell some assets, stand pat, or even add a bit. If they get an offer for Laughton that they can't refuse, it makes sense to move the 29-year-old who can play up and down the lineup in every role. Since he has over two more years on his deal at $3 million AAV, he may not have higher value than he does right now.

If the Flyers do explore a trade for him, Frank Seravalli said that the Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers, and Ottawa Senators have come up in the mix. While the Rangers are clear Stanley Cup contenders this season and have won 10 games in a row right now, the other two are on the rise and need to alter their rosters in order to actually take the next step to making the playoffs and winning once they get there.

With the Rangers having lost Filip Chytil and Blake Wheeler for the remainder of the season, a cheap addition that will fit under the cap and replace what the team lost in an important season is a must. Laughton looks to be one of the only ones who can do that for them and has been linked to the Rangers for a while.

The Sabres and Senators need to move some players out and bring in some new faces. With two more years on Laughton's deal, both could benefit from his versatility to boost the bottom-six and change things up a bit. Both are looking to add for the future this season if the right opportunity presents itself.
