6 Destinations Listed For Senators' Tarasenko

Rumors are heating up for the Ottawa Senators' Vladimir Tarasenko as The Athletic has listed six teams that could be good fits for him ahead of the trade deadline.

Tarasenko has a no-trade clause, so any decision will have to go through him, but unless he is planning on getting a big deal from the Senators, the chance to win this season is better than not getting to play in the postseason at all. The teams that were linked to Tarasenko are the Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, and Boston Bruins.

The Wild are the only team that doesn't make sense here. I understand that they may have some feelers out there if they continue to play well since the team is only four points out of a playoff spot with one game in hand. But using a bigger asset in a year like this for a rental may not be the best decision.

The Oilers, Bruins, and Hurricanes are all looking for something similar with a player like Tarasenko. A top-6 talent that can produce offensively. This is something they are all lacking right now, but the Hurricanes are in the best spot due to their strong scoring depth.

The Stars look very good up front, but this could be their year and they are leaving no stone unturned. Tarasenko could make a real difference and add even more danger for other teams to the Stars' top-9.

The Rangers have a couple of holes to fill this season, most recently for Blake Wheeler who suffered a season-ending injury. Tarasenko played alright for the Rangers last season when he was a rental and it makes sense that New York is at least showing some interest to keep the door open. He may not be their top choice, but he is better than not doing anything for sure.
