Blackhawks Rumors: Forward Expected to Be Traded

The Chicago Blackhawks are clear sellers for the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. This is understandable, as they are still in the middle of a rebuild, and they are among the worst teams in the NHL this season.

Because of this, they have a handful of trade candidates heading into the deadline. One player who been picking up some chatter in the rumor mill because of this is forward Colin Blackwell.

Blackwell is a pending UFA who could be a strong addition to a playoff team looking to bring in some forward depth for their bottom six. This is because he is a hard-working forward who provides some grit in the process.

Blackwell has appeared in 25 games this season with the Blackhawks, where he has three goals, three assists, and 29 hits. While he has not dominated the league offensively this campaign, he has been solid defensively, and that could allow him to garner some interest around the league, especially when more of the bigger trade targets are off of the board.

We will now need to wait and see if the Blackhawks end up moving Blackwell before the trade deadline passes from here. When noting that he is a UFA at the end of the season, it seems more likely than not that he will find a new home.
