Blue Jackets Rumors: Latest On Adam Boqvist's Trade Market

The Columbus Blue Jackets are expected to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Several of their players have come up in the rumor over the last several months because of their season-long struggles, and one of them is defenseman Adam Boqvist.

Boqvist is a former first-round pick who can produce well offensively and still has room for growth, so he has naturally been generating interest. Teams like the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames have been connected to him this season, but now he is receiving some interest from other clubs, too. According to The Fourth Period, the Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild are now both linked to him.

The Senators could use some serious help on the right side of their defensive group. It has been one of their biggest weaknesses this season, so it makes sense that they are eyeing a young defenseman with promise like Boqvist. If acquired by the Sens, he would be a good fit on their bottom pairing and also certainly receive power-play time because of his offensive ability.

As for the Wild, they are currently could use an upgrade on their right side as well. Because of this, taking a shot on a player like Boqvist would make sense for them. This is especially so when remembering that they dealt fellow offensive defenseman Calen Addison to the San Jose Sharks earlier this season.

We will need to wait and see if either of these two teams land Boqvist before the deadline passes from here.
