Blues Rumors: 7 Top Landing Spots Named for Pavel Buchnevich
St. Louis Blues forward Pavel Buchnevich has been picking up plenty of steam in the rumor mill over the last few weeks. This is likely to continue as the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline gets closer, so fans should be keeping an eye on him.
As a result of the trade rumors surrounding Buchnevich, The Bleacher Report's Joe Yerdon listed the Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Chicago Blackhawks as the top landing spots for him.
There is a good mix of playoff and non-playoff teams listed by Yerdon, and it makes sense. This is because Buchnevich is under contract beyond this season, so he would be more than a rental for any of these clubs if he was acquired. Because of this, teams like the Blackhawks and Flames could certainly eye him over these next few weeks.
While the Blues are still in the playoff race, Buchnevich could be made expendable if they do not view him as a long-term part of their plans. His trade value is very high, and they would be able to land an impactful return because of it. Thus, he is a player to watch over these next few weeks.
All seven of these teams would benefit by adding a high-impact talent like Buchnevich, and we will need to wait and see if they do just that from here.
