Boston Bruins Given Brutal Injury News

During the Boston Bruins' recent win over the Dallas Stars, defenseman Hampus Lindholm left the game in the third period after an awkward fall. Now, we have a better understanding of how much time he is going to miss, and it is bad news for the Bruins.

According to The Athletic's Fluto Shinzawa, Lindholm will be out week-to-week. He also added that Lindholm will not need surgery for his ongoing injury.
With this news, the Bruins are going to be without their top left-shot defenseman, which is very concerning. This is especially so when noting that they are trying to reclaim the Atlantic Division lead from the red-hot Florida Panthers. Doing that without Lindholm will not be easy, as he is a key contributor to their group.

Lindholm's injury could certainly lead the Bruins to bring in a defenseman before the deadline passes. They have been linked to Calgary Flames top trade candidate Noah Hanifin.

With Lindholm out, top prospect Mason Lohrei will get more reps in the NHL, as he was recently recalled.

It will be interesting to see how the Bruins perform without Lindholm from here. Their other left-shot defenseman will have plenty of responsibilities with him out.
