Boston Bruins' Top 3 Trade Candidates At 2024 Deadline

The Boston Bruins are gearing up to make a couple trades ahead of the deadline in order to fill some holes left from this past offseason or from recent injuries. This may take players off of their roster in order to execute these moves, so let's have a look at the top three trade candidates on the Bruins this season.

Linus Ullmark

Rumors have been starting to pick up surrounding Linus Ullmark. The games in net are pretty evenly split again, but this season Jeremy Swayman has played more and played better. He is younger and will need a larger contract after the season. A team doesn't need two number one goalies and Ullmark is the obvious choice to move with his cap hit and age. There are teams out there that are in desperate need of strong goaltending and Ullmark can provide that. It would help out the Bruins by freeing up space and getting assets back that they can use to better their team this season.

Derek Forbort

While Hampus Lindholm being out weakens the defense of the Bruins as is, Derek Forbort is still a trade candidate regardless due to his cap hit and role. He is on the third pairing and if the Bruins upgrade, Mason Lohrei can move into that spot and the team can save some money. I think he is more likely to be moved than Matt Grzelcyk.

Fabian Lysell

The Bruins are definitely going to try to make a big move since they are in win-now mode, so one of their better prospects, Fabian Lysell, should be in play. He is having a strong season in the AHL, but since the team isn't keen on moving young players that have played for them this season like Lohrei, Matthew Poitras, and John Beecher, Lysell is the next best option and would fetch the Bruins something very good.
