Calgary Flames Make Roster Moves
The Calgary Flames are staying busy, as they have made some roster moves. The club has called up forwards Jakob Pelletier, Kevin Rooney, and Cole Schwindt. Along with that, the Flames have also placed forward A.J. Greer on injured reserve.
Pelletier, 22, recently returned to action after suffering a long-term shoulder injury that he suffered during training camp. Now, after posting three points in four games with the Calgary Wranglers, he is now rejoining the NHL squad. The youngster will be looking to break out during the second half of the season, as he has the potential to. In 24 games last season with the Flames, he had three goals and seven points.
Rooney also got his season started recently down in the AHL with the Wranglers. Like Pelletier, he has played in just four games with the AHL squad this season, but he has just one goal on the season. He will be looking to impress while with the Flames, as it could lead to him being a regular in their lineup for the remainder of the season.
Schwindt, 22, has played in three games with the Flames this season, where he has zero points to go along with a minus-1 rating. This will be a good chance for the young forward to try to show the Flames that he can handle NHL competition.
Greer is currently dealing with a multi-week injury, so this IR placement is not particularly surprising
