Canucks Trade Rumors: Minnesota Wild Forward On Vancouver's Radar

The Vancouver Canucks have already made a couple of key trades this season, but they're apparently not done yet. While most of the attention is still on what's happening with star Elias Pettersson,  there's still some massaging of the lineup to do around the periphery, at least.

With that, Daily Faceoff insider Frank Seravalli tells us that the Canucks have been keeping close tabs on Minnesota Wild forward Brandon Duhaime. He said he "wouldn't be shocked if Minny trades him", and as for the Canucks, "They’re in on everything. The most aggressive traders in the league.”

Duhaime is a pending UFA, comes with a relatively cheap $1.1 million cap hit, and according to Seravalli, is "an ideal fourth-line winger on a contender." His speed has apparently caught the attention of rival teams looking for a depth piece, and he can make a difference in the playoffs with his feisty aggressive style.

Duhaime, 26, doesn't have eye-popping numbers by any stretch of the imagination, but he's been a valuable contributor on the fourth line. He has four goals and two assists for six points in 58 games, but is on pace for more than 200 hits for the second time in three years, with 143.

If the Canucks were to acquire him,  Arshdeep Bains and/or Phillip Di Giuseppe would have their spots in jeopardy.

It must be noted, however, that the Wild haven't yet given up the idea of making the playoffs. With seven wins in their last 10 games, the Wild are just four points back of the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
