Capitals Rumors: Multiple Players Generating Trade Interest

The Washington Capitals are currently fighting for a playoff spot, but there has still been a lot of speculation over the prospect of them being sellers yet again this season. Many of their players have entered the rumor mill over the last few weeks because of it.

However, it now seems that four specific Capitals are generating the most interest on their roster. According to The Fourth Period, Anthony Mantha, Joel Edmundson, Max Pacioretty, and Nicolas Aube-Kubel have all been discussed with clubs.

The Fourth Period shared that Mantha has specifically generated interest from the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche. With each of these teams needing more forward depth, it is understandable.

Edmundson is a veteran shutdown defenseman who could be a nice fit for teams looking to improve their bottom pairing. Some clubs who have been linked to him in recent weeks include the Oilers, Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Pacioretty is an interesting case, as the veteran winger is a pending UFA who could be a great fit on a team needing more secondary scoring.

Aube-Kubel should generate interest, too, as he is a gritty forward who contenders would love to have on their fourth line for when the games get chippier during the postseason.
