Devils Rumors: Predators Defenseman On Team's Radar

The New Jersey Devils are exploring the trade market for a right-shot defenseman. It is understandable, as Dougie Hamilton is out indefinitely, and their right side needs more depth because of it.

The Nashville Predators, on the other hand, are expected to sell off some of their pending UFAs at the deadline, as they are in the middle of retooling their roster. Tyson Barrie is one player who is expected to be moved, as he has been shopped for much of this season. With the Devils needing help on their right side, he is a player who has been connected to them.

Barrie would be an interesting addition for the Devils. He would be a decent option for their bottom pairing if acquired, but more importantly, he would be a massive pickup for their power play. This is because Barrie's excellent passing ability makes him very effective with the man advantage. As a result, he would be a solid rental for a team like the Devils.

Barrie certainly is in need of a change of scenery, as the fit just has not been there with the Predators. However, joining a team with plenty of stars like the Devils could be the boost that Barrie needs to get his offense back up from the point.

Alas, we will need to wait and see if the Devils and Predators end up making a move centering around Barrie before the deadline passes from here.
