Ducks Rumors: New Team Connected to Ilya Lyubushkin

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin is a notable trade candidate heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. It is entirely understandable, as he is on an expiring contract, and the Ducks are among the worst clubs in the NHL.

Lyubushkin's market has been growing because of this, as teams like the Tampa Bay Lightning, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Pittsburgh Penguins have been linked to him. However, it is now clear that a new team is becoming a suitor for the veteran defenseman, as the Dallas Stars are being linked to him, according to The Fourth Period

The Stars are going to be adding to their defensive group before the trade deadline. Not only are they dealing with injuries, but they also simply need some more depth on their right side. Because of this, bringing in a hard-hitting defenseman like Lyubushkin would make a lot of sense for them.

Lyubushkin, 29, would be a clear fit for the Stars' bottom pairing. With that, he would also be an option for their penalty kill, as he is a steady defensive defenseman who is always hard to go up against because of his physical style of play.

Lyubushkin has appeared in 52 games this season with the Ducks, where he has three assists to go along with 132 blocks and 105 hits.
