Ducks Trade Rumors: 5 Teams Linked to Adam Henrique As Talks Escalate

It's only a matter of time now. The top remaining center on the trade market, Adam Henrique will be donning a new jersey in the very near future. Per hockey insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, talks have "picked up" and will continue to "escalate" as we head down the stretch, with only 10 days until the trade deadline.

Pagnotta adds that the Ducks will quite likely be retaining a chunk of his $5.825 million contract. Henrique will become an unrestricted free agent at season's end.

The 34-year-old does possess a 10-team no-trade list, so he does have some control over where he winds up. Pagnotta lists five teams with interest in the Ducks center.

  • Carolina Hurricanes
  • Colorado Avalanche
  • Dallas Stars
  • Edmonton Oilers
  • New York Rangers

All five clubs are Stanley Cup hopefuls, and looking for a second- or third-line center (and/or winger, as Henrique has that versatility).

The Avalanche have been heavily tied to him, and we recently analyzed a proposed trade sending Henrique to Colorado that involved a third team to make the money work

For the Oilers, he has the potential to slot in on the wing on the second line, or as a third-line center.

The Rangers are in need of an offensive player to replace Filip Chytil, who's out for the season. Henrique has seven 20-goal seasons in his 14-year career, and is even on pace to eclipse his career high in points, as he currently sits with 38 points in 57 games.
