Flyers Rumors: New Team Linked to Scott Laughton

Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton is one of the top trade targets heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. With the Flyers rebuilding, they are hearing offers for the skilled forward, and there has been a ton of interest in him because of it. A few teams who have been connected to him include the Buffalo Sabres, New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, and Colorado Avalanche.

However, it appears that a new team has now entered the Laughton sweepstakes. According to The Fourth Period's Anthony Di Marco, the Winnipeg Jets are also interested in the Flyers forward.

The Jets have already made one notable move down the middle during this season, as they acquired Sean Monahan from the Montreal Canadiens. Yet, even with this being the case, they could still use more depth down the middle. Because of this, Laughton makes sense as a trade target for them.

Laughton would be a nice addition to their third line, as he provides decent offense to go along with plenty of physicality and solid defensive play. Along with that, he would give them a bit more leadership as they prepare for the postseason.

With interest in Laughton being so high, it is not a guarantee that the Jets' interest in him will lead to them landing him by March 8. However, on paper, there could be a very good match here if a deal comes to fruition.
