Kraken Rumors: Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

The Seattle Kraken are currently out of a playoff spot, and there is a good chance that they will be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Players like Jordan Eberle and Justin Schultz have come up in the rumor mill because of it.

However, the Kraken have another under-the-radar trade candidate who could be moved before the trade deadline, as forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare is picking up some steam in trade chatter around the league.

Bellemare could be a good addition for a playoff team looking to improve their bottom six down the middle. This is because he is a solid defensive forward who kills penalties very effectively. As a result, he would be a good depth forward for a contender to add. This is especially so when noting that he has played in the Stanley Cup Final two times in his career. Bellemare is also known for being a strong leader, and that naturally could lead to teams calling.

Another nice element about Bellemare is that he has an easily affordable $725,000 cap hit. Because of this, even teams with a limited amount of cap space would be able to fit him. Every contender loves to add cheap depth, and Bellemare is just that.

We will now need to wait and see if the Kraken end up moving Bellemare before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passes from here.
