Maple Leafs Rumors: Blues Defenseman On Team's Radar

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to add to their blue line before the trade deadline passes. It is understandable, as it is one of their weakest areas, and this is especially the case when it comes to their right side.

As a result of this, the Maple Leafs have been connected to multiple right-shot defensemen. Now, a new one is officially on their radar, as The Fourth Period reported that the Maple Leafs are now one of the teams currently linked to Colton Parayko.

Parayko has been viewed as a possible trade target in the past for the Maple Leafs, but now it appears that he is garnering legitimate interest from the club with this report. It is understandable, as he would be a major addition to their roster.

Parayko could serve as a long-term part of the Maple Leafs' top four if acquired, as he is under contract for multiple seasons after this one. With that, he would be a notable addition to their penalty kill because of his shutdown ability.

Parayko, 30, has appeared in 51 games this season with the Blues, where he has nine goals, 20 points, and a plus-11 rating. It has quietly been a very good season for him, so the Blues could get a big return for him if they officially elect to shop him.

However, Parayko will have the final say if he gets moved to the Maple Leafs or elsewhere, as he has a full no-trade clause.
