NHL Rumors: Sharks & Red Wings Becoming Possible Trade Partners
The Detroit Red Wings are expected to be conservative buyers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, as they are currently in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference. Although this is the case, young forward Jonatan Berggren has come up in the rumor mill.
The San Jose Sharks, on the other hand, are gearing up to be sellers. However, with the Sharks rebuilding and looking toward the future, they are in a prime position to take a chance on a young forward with promise like Berggren.
The Sharks would have the potential to be a good landing spot for Berggren, as he would surely receive plenty of chances on their NHL roster. This is because their forward group is far weaker than the Red Wings'. With that, they also have several trade candidates who are forwards, like Anthony Duclair, Alexander Barabanov, and Mike Hoffman.
When looking at the Sharks' lineup, it is clear that Berggren would be an option for their top six. With that, he would also be a notable addition to their power play if acquired, as he is a skillful player offensively.
We will need to wait and see if the Sharks pull the trigger on a potential Berggren move from here. On paper, there could be a very good match here between the player and the team.
