NHL Rumors: Stars & Capitals Emerging as Possible Trade Partners

The Dallas Stars are gearing up to be big buyers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. This is understandable, as they are among the top teams in the NHL, and they are looking to improve their roster for the playoffs.

One area that they are specifically looking to improve is their forward group. Adding another skilled winger is one of their primary objectives, and one player who is standing out as a prime trade target for them is Washington Capitals forward Max Pacioretty.

Pacioretty, 35, would be a solid addition to the Stars' middle six, as he still produces fairly solid offense. With that, he would be an obvious addition for their power play due to his high offensive IQ and strong passing ability.

Since returning from his second Achilles injury, Pacioretty has had a decent start with the Caps, as he has one goal and eight points in 17 games. While he is struggling to score, he is still producing well when it comes to assists. Perhaps moving to a far stronger offensive team like the Stars could help his production go up further.

With the Capitals rapidly falling in the standings, it is starting to seem more likely that Pacioretty will find a new home before the deadline passes. We will need to wait and see if he ends up heading to the Stars from here.
