NHLTR Mock Trade: Calgary Flames Deal Chris Tanev to the Dallas Stars
Our mock trade series continues after looking at potential deals involving Jake Guentzel of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Noah Hanifin of the Calgary Flames. For today's piece we stay in Calgary and showcase Hanifin's teammate, and sometimes defense partner, Chris Tanev.
Tanev is as tough as they come. He's battled tested, he blocks shots with his face on a regular basis, he can make the first pass and is more offensively minded than he's given credit for. And he just so happens to be in the top three trade targets on all the insider's trade boards. Tanev's getting moved before March 8 and here's something to consider before the deadline.

Not a large group of scouts here, but one name stands out to me: Paul McIntosh of the Dallas Stars. Dallas must be looking for a defenceman and Tanev would be a whale of fit for the Stars. #Flames

“With Chris Tanev, the Flames continue to hold and see if a first-rounder (or something they consider comparable) becomes available. Dallas is very much into this, although some teams suspect they like Hanifin, too.”#TexasHockey https://t.co/IRrNf1oHmq
