Penguins Rumors: 3 Potential Forward Trade Targets

The Pittsburgh Penguins are a team to watch extremely closely at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. They currently do not hold a playoff spot, and there has been a ton of speculation over the prospect of them being sellers this season because of it. However, they also still have a chance of being a playoff club, so they could elect to be buyers, too.

If the Penguins decide to be buyers one area that they are likely to try to improve is their forward group. Because of this, Dan Kingerski named Vladimir Tarasenko, Jason Zucker, and Victor Olofsson as possible options for the Penguins.

Out of this trio, Tarasenko is the biggest name and would be the most impactful addition for Pittsburgh. The veteran winger is having a solid season with the Ottawa Senators, as he has 13 goals, 33 points, and a plus-11 rating in 45 games. He would be a big-time addition to their top six if acquired.

Zucker is certainly a familiar face, as he has played four seasons with the Penguins before joining the Arizona Coyotes this past offseason. In 38 games this season with the Coyotes, he has seven goals to go along with 17 points.

Olofsson has had a tough season with the Buffalo Sabres, as he has just four goals and 12 points in 33 games. He also has been scratched significantly as of late. However, he scored 28 goals just last season, so he could heat up if given a much-needed fresh start.
