Penguins Rumors: 6 Teams Linked to Jake Guentzel

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a big decision to make before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Star forward Jake Guentzel is a pending UFA, and an extension with the club has not been finalized. With that, the Penguins currently do not have a playoff spot, so their chances of being sellers are starting to increase.

Due to this, Guentzel has been generating a lot of interest, and now we know which specific clubs are currently making a push for him. According to The Fourth Period, the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings, and Vegas Golden Knights are all linked to the star forward.

There is no question that each of these clubs could use a star like Guentzel in their top six. They all currently hold playoff spots, too, so they are in a position to make a major splash by bringing him in. This is especially so when noting that he is, without a doubt, the top player available on the trade market.

As we continue to get closer to the deadline, there is no question that more teams are going to make a push for Guentzel. He is exactly the kind of sniper that contenders would love to add to their rosters, so don't be surprised if teams like the Dallas Stars, Winnipeg Jets, and New York Rangers all look to add him, too.

Guentzel, 29, has appeared in 50 games this season with the Penguins, where he has 22 goals to go along with 52 points. Overall, it has been another excellent season for him, and it makes sense that he is generating a lot of interest around the NHL because of it. We will need to wait and see if any of these clubs end up landing him by March 8 from here.
