Penguins Rumors: Asking Price for Jake Guentzel Revealed

Pittsburgh Penguins star forward Jake Guentzel is the top trade target heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. It is understandable, as he is a high-impact winger who is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) on an underwhelming Pittsburgh Penguins club.

While a Guentzel trade is not necessarily guaranteed, it is clear that the Penguins are at least considering the prospect of moving him. A asking price for the star forward has now been revealed, too, as ESPN's Emily Kaplan recently reported that the Penguins are looking for multiple first-round picks or a first-round pick and a top prospect for him.

With Guentzel being a consistent point-per-game player, it is understandable that the Penguins are asking for a lot in return for him. He is easily the top forward still available for the taking, and the Penguins are looking to take advantage of that.

Guentzel has several teams linked to him, as the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, and Vegas Golden Knights are all expressing interest in him.

Guentzel, 29, has appeared in 50 games this season with the Penguins, as he has 22 goals to go along with 52 points this season. Overall, it has been another excellent season for him, so it makes a lot of sense that his market is heating up.
