Predators Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Tyson Barrie

Nashville Predators defenseman Tyson Barrie has been available for trade for much of this season, but a deal has not come to fruition. However, with the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline rapidly approaching, that is expected to change over these next few weeks.

Barrie is now starting to grab attention from teams around the league. According to The Fourth Period, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars are two teams currently linked to the veteran defenseman.

Hearing that the Lightning are keeping an eye on Barrie is not too surprising. They have been browsing the trade market for a defenseman for quite some time, and there's a bigger need now to land one with Mikhail Sergachev out indefinitely. As a result, it would be smart for them to add someone like Barrie. He would fit on their second pairing and be a major addition to their power play.

As for the Stars, they also should be in the market for a right-shot defenseman. Their right side would benefit from a boost, and Barrie would give them that. Similar to the Lightning, he would be a fit on their second pairing and would, of course, be an obvious option for their power play.

As we get closer to the deadline and more defensemen come off the board, it will not be surprising if more teams make a push for Barrie. We will need to wait and see where he ends up being moved to from here.
