Predators Rumors: Goalie Becoming Trade Candidate

The Nashville Predators have been causing plenty of buzz in the trade rumor mill. This is because star goaltender Juuse Saros is being viewed as one of the top trade candidates heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Along with that, they also have players like Tommy Novak, Tyson Barrie, Alexandre Carrier, and Cody Glass, who could be dealt.

Yet, the Predators also have another goaltender who has the potential of being dealt by March 8 - Kevin Lankinen.

Lankinen is in the final season of his contract and is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA). Because of this, he has the potential to be a decent little rental addition for a playoff club looking to add some depth between the pipes.

Lankinen, 28, has struggled a bit this season, however, as he sports a 3.23 GAA and a .892 SV% in 17 appearances. However, when noting that he had a .916 SV% just last season with the Predators, he certainly has the potential to bounce back as the campaign rolls on.

Some teams who could consider making a push for Lankinen before the trade deadline include the Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes, and Tampa Bay Lightning.

We will now need to wait and see what happens with Lankinen and the Predators from here.
