Rangers Rumors: 3 Teams Interested in Kaapo Kakko

The New York Rangers are preparing to be buyers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Although this is the case, they are also listening to offers for former top prospect Kaapo Kakko. Now, the young forward is starting to garner more trade interest around the league because of it.

According to The Fourth Period, the Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks, and Minnesota Wild are all currently linked to Kakko.

The Sabres are expected to be sellers at the deadline, but they are also open to adding talent that will help them beyond this season. Due to this, it is not too surprising to hear that Kakko is on their radar. He could thrive in their top nine and would work well on their penalty kill.

The Ducks make a lot of sense as a suitor for Kakko. They are in the middle of a rebuild, and they are in a prime position to take a chance on a young forward with high upside like Kakko. Perhaps joining a team with far less pressure right now could be the push that Kakko needs to take that next step in his development.

As for the Wild, they also could use a young player like Kakko. It has been a tough season for them, and they have struggled with their offense. As a result, they also are in a spot where they should look at players like Kakko. He could even be a fit in their top six when looking at their current group right now.

We will need to wait and see if either of these three teams will land Kakko before the deadline passes from here.
