Red Wings Rumors: 2 New Teams Linked to Jonatan Berggren
Detroit Red Wings forward Jonatan Berggren has been in the rumor mill for much of this season, and that is only continuing to be the case as we inch closer to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline.
It has already been established that the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators are two teams who have been eyeing Berggren during this season. However, two new clubs are expressing interest in him as well, as The Fourth Period has reported that the Anaheim Ducks and Arizona Coyotes are now expressing interest in the young forward.
Hearing that the Ducks are making a push for Berggren is not very surprising. It is apparent that he would be a great fit there, as they are rebuilding, and he is still quite young. With that, he would receive far more chances with the NHL squad, as their forward group has far less depth than the Red Wings'. Besides having a spot in their top nine, he also would be a candidate for their power play.
As for the Coyotes, they have taken a step forward this season, but it is clear that they are still a bit away from being a playoff team. They are still building their roster to be competitive, and taking a chance on a young forward like Berggren would certainly make sense for them. Thus, it is understandable that they are now one of the teams looking to bring him in.
We will need to wait and see if the Ducks or Coyotes end up bringing him Berggren in before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline passes from here.
