Red Wings Star Forward Set to Return

The Detroit Red Wings are getting one of their star players back, as the team has announced that they have activated forward Patrick Kane off of injured reserve.

Kane last played for the Red Wings during their Jan. 14 contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he was limited to only 1:07 of playing time after suffering a lower-body injury. Now, after missing roughly one month of game action, Kane appears to be ready to go.

With the Red Wings currently being one of the many teams fighting for a playoff spot in the deep Eastern Conference, getting Kane back is huge news for them. He will give them another star to work with with his return, and the team's offense should improve because of it.

Kane, 35, has appeared in 19 games this season with the Red Wings, where he has seven goals to go along with 16 points. Overall, in his small sample size, Kane has been an excellent addition to the Red Wings' lineup, and it will be fun to see how well he keeps it going now that he is returning to the lineup.

The Red Wings currently have the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, so getting Kane back is simply excellent for him. We will need to wait and see how well they do now that he is back for them from here.
