Senators Rumors: Insider "Wouldn't Be Surprised" If Defenseman Is Traded
Recent reports are strongly suggesting that the Ottawa Senators are actively considering trading defenseman Lassi Thomson.
Despite being drafted in the first round as the 19th overall pick by the Senators in 2019, Thomson's NHL career has seen limited action, with only 18 games played for the team.
An NHL executive told me the other day that it would be no surprise to see Thomson moved to another organization before the deadline. #Sens may want to look at a player in another organization. https://t.co/lrH3Jbbf03

This has prompted the Senators to assess their roster for potential changes, and trading Thomson appears to be on their radar.
On the other hand, there are also rumors circulating that Lassi Thomson is contemplating a return to Sweden for the upcoming season.
Reports indicate that he may join the Swedish club Malmö Redhawks, which is actively seeking to bolster their defensive lineup.
Thomson had a great year last season in the AHL, racking up seven goals and 33 total points across 56 games played. So far this year, he has five goals and 12 points over 41 games in the AHL.

Such a move could provide Thomson with a fresh start in Europe and more playing time to further develop his hockey career.
