Sharks Trade Rumors: Insider Lists 10 Sharks Trade Candidates
To say that the San Jose Sharks are "sellers" at this year's trade deadline would be an understatement. A number of their players have been mentioned in rumours consistently over the past couple of months.
Now, insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period has decided to take stock and present a list of no less than 10 Sharks players that could be skating in a different city by the end of the day on March 8th—and that's not even including Tomas Hertl and captain Logan Couture, both of whom have injuries that could end their seasons, rendering trades for them unlikely.
And with that, here's the Top 10 Sharks that teams should be circling in the San Jose waters:
- Anthony Duclair, RW
- Alexander Barabanov, LW
- Mike Hoffman, RW
- Mario Ferraro, D
- Kaapo Kahkonen, G
- Mikael Granlund, C
- Luke Kunin, C
- Jan Rutta, D
- Marc-Edouard Vlasic, D
- Kevin Labanc, RW
There's certainly been a lot written about the first few names on this list; Duclair has recently shot up the boards with a handful of teams interested in the 28-year-old forward, who showed quite a bit of playoff acumen last year with the Florida Panthers, notching 11 points in 20 playoff games.
Barabanov has 4 teams in pursuit of him, while Ferraro is a defensive defenseman who puts his body in the line of fire, and is just 25 with a couple of seasons left at a reasonable $3.25 million AAV. At least a couple of Canadian teams have been linked to him this week.
Labanc has been given permission to seek a trade, though his extremely disappointing season, that's featured a series of healthy scratches and just two goals might limit his potential takers.
It's going to be a busy 2 1/2 weeks for Sharks GM Mike Grier.
