TRADE: Columbus Blue Jackets & Pittsburgh Penguins Complete 3-Piece Deal

The wheeling and dealing has begun in Pittsburgh as the Penguins traded AHL forward Alex Nylander to the Columbus Blue Jackets, along with a conditional draft pick in exchange for Emil Bemstrom.

The draft pick is a conditional sixth-rounder which can increase to a third-rounder if Bemstrom scores some goals in Pittsburgh down the stretch this season. The 24-year-old forward has been up and down between Columbus and the AHL this season. With the Blue Jackets he's scored five goals and added six assists and in the AHL, has 14 points in eight games.

Nylander, on the other hand has been a mystery since being a top-10 pick. The now 25-year-old has been playing mostly in the AHL this season, recording 32 points in 45 games. He's been given a couple of looks on the Penguins throughout the year, however hasn't been able to produce, with no points in five appearances. It will be a nice change of scenery for the Swedish forward as the Blue Jackets are high on his game and ceiling and interim John Davidson admitted the team is going to give him a look at the NHL level the second half of the season.

Expect to see more trades out of Pittsburgh as Kyle Dubas is staring at a dissapointing roster and will be shuffling the deck considerably before March 8. Some talks of Jake Guentzel, Reilly Smith, Alex Nedeljkovic, and even Erik Karlsson being in play.
