Wild Rumors: Insider Names 3 Fits for Marc-Andre Fleury

The Minnesota Wild have disappointed this season, and they are surely going to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline because of it. Their most notable trade candidate is future Hall of Fame goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury. However, when noting that he has a full no-movement clause, he will decide if he gets dealt or not.

In a recent 32 Thoughts column, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman named the Carolina Hurricanes, Colorado Avalanche, and Edmonton Oilers as clear potential suitors for Fleury.

The Hurricanes surely should be looking to add a goalie before the deadline. It has been an inconsistent part of their roster this season, and they have dealt with injuries between the pipes because of it. Due to this, they would benefit by bringing in another option in Fleury.

The Avalanche have been viewed as a possible landing spot by many, and it is very understandable. GM Chris MacFarland has confirmed that he is looking to add a backup goalie, and Fleury would be a great option for them. He would be a major upgrade for the role and would lower Alexandar Georgiev's workload.

As for the Oilers, adding another goalie would make sense. Jack Campbell's struggles led to his demotion to the AHL, and Calvin Pickard does not have too much NHL experience. As a result, Fleury would be a good addition to their group if he would be open to a move there.

We will need to wait and see if these three clubs end up making a push for him over these next few weeks from here.
