Winnipeg Jets Star Forward Set to Return
The Winnipeg Jets are getting one of their most important players back in the lineup. While speaking to reporters, Jets head coach Rick Bowness announced that star center Mark Scheifele will be activated off of injured reserve before their next contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Feb. 6.
Scheifele, 30, last played for the Jets during their Jan. 11 matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, where he suffered his lower-body injury. Yet, now after roughly one month, the star forward will be returning to lineup.
This is big news for the Jets, as the club has been struggling a little bit as of late. Part of that has been due to Scheifele not being in the lineup, so hearing that he is being activated off of injured reserve is simply massive.
Scheifele has appeared in 41 games this season, where he has 14 goals to go along with 41 points. Overall, it has been a very good season for the veteran forward, and now he will finally get the chance to improve upon it very shortly.
It will be interesting to see how well the Jets perform with Scheifele being back in the lineup. There is no question that their offense is getting a significant boost.
