Arizona Coyotes' 3 Best Contracts of 2023-24
It is unfortunate that the Arizona Coyotes weren't able to stay in the playoff race this season because the team has so many good contracts. While the three best have been chosen, I also wanted to give some attention to other players who didn't make the cut for this team like Clayton Keller, Nick Schmaltz, Michael Carcone, and Matias Maccelli.
Nick Bjugstad
Nick Bjugstad has worked his way and stuck on the top line of the Coyotes this season, and for good reason. After being dealt at last year's trade deadline and then brought back, he was given some more money for his efforts and success. The 31-year-old's cap hit is only $2.1 million AAV through next season, but he is centering the first line and has 21 goals and 44 points in 73 games. He is outperforming his contract by a wide margin.
Connor Ingram
Connor Ingram isn't only one of the best contracts on the team, he is on one of the best goalie contracts in the entire NHL. Ingram took over as the starter this season from Karel Vejmelka, and when the Coyotes were in the playoff race for the first half of the season, Ingram was to thank. He is currently sitting at a .908 SV%, but has a 20-19-3 record and leads the league in shutouts with six. He has a cap hit of $1.95 million AAV for two more years.
Sean Durzi
Sean Durzi has been somewhat of a workhorse on the back-end for the Coyotes. This team did a great job in identifying talent with him and bringing him over with one year remaining on his deal at $1.7 million AAV. As a top pairing defenseman, Durzi is going to get paid, especially since he has played nearly 23 minutes per game and has eight goals and 38 points in 68 games. The 25-year-old is only getting better too.
