Avalanche Acquire Brandon Duhaime From Wild

The Minnesota Wild have traded forward Brandon Duhaime to the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick.

Duhaime, 26, had been generating plenty of interest over the last few weeks from teams like the Avalanche, Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, and Winnipeg Jets. Yet, we now know he is heading to Colorado.

Duhaime should be a decent addition to the Avalanche's roster as they prepare for their playoff run. While he is not the most impactful player when it comes to his offensive contributions, he is a big force in terms of his immensely physical style of play. As a result, he is a player who is built for the playoffs.

Duhaime has appeared in 62 games during this season with the Wild, where he has four goals to go along with four assists, 66 penalty minutes, and 155 hits.

The Avalanche have needed some help in their bottom six, and now they have gotten just that with Duhaime. He should fit nicely on their fourth line and give them a bit more bite for the final portion of the season and the playoffs.
