Canadiens Rumors: Josh Anderson & Others Available for Trade

The Montreal Canadiens are in the middle of a rebuild and do not hold a playoff spot, so naturally, they are expected to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. They have some pretty solid trade candidates on their roster that playoff clubs are surely going to consider taking fliers on.

According to The Fourth Period, the Canadiens are open to moving power forward Josh Anderson. Along with that, they also listed David Savard, Jake Allen, Tanner Pearson, and Joel Armia as Canadiens who could find new homes in the next week.

Anderson is certainly intriguing to see back in the rumor mill. There is no question that some clubs could consider adding him, as he is a very physical forward who has the potential to make an impact offensively. Although, he has struggled a bit this season, posting 17 points in 57 games thus far.

Savard and Allen have been discussed a lot in recent weeks, and that is only continuing to be the case. Savard is a physical top-four defenseman who could fit in nicely on a contender, while Allen is a decent 1B option for teams looking for more insurance between the pipes.

As for Pearson and Armia, they could be decent additions for playoff clubs looking for an experienced bottom-six forward.

It will be intriguing to see how many of these Canadiens end up being traded before the trade deadline passes from here.
