Capitals Rumors: 5 Teams In On Max Pacioretty
It is officially trade deadline day, and we are going to see plenty of moves over these next several hours because of it. One player who is expected to be dealt before the deadline is here is Washington Capitals forward Max Pacioretty. The Capitals have committed to being sellers, and Pacioretty will get moved, as he is a pending UFA.
Pacioretty is generating a plethora of interest, too, as the Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, and New York Rangers are all in the mix for his services, according to The Fourth Period.
The Panthers are the expected frontrunner for Pacioretty, as it has been rumored that they are his preferred destination. He has a no-trade clause, so he will ultimately decide where he ends up. Thus, the Panthers are an obvious club to watch.
However, it is also clear that the rest of these clubs need more scoring, they need to be watched incredibly closely. Each of them have a real chance of going on a run this season, so if the Panthers decide to go in a different direction, it is likely that Pacioretty would rather play for each of them instead of the Capitals.
We will need to wait and see what happens with Pacioretty from here, as his market is heating up big time.
