Josh Doan has been recalled from Tucson, GM Bill Armstrong tells me.
This is exciting news for Coyotes fans, as Doan's father, Shane Doan, is the club's biggest legend. Now, Josh will follow in his father's footsteps and officially make his debut for the Yotes.
Due to his father being a longtime Coyote, Doan also grew up and developed his game in Arizona, which makes this even cooler. Along with that, he spent two seasons with Arizona State University.
Doan, 22, has also been showing a lot of promise down in the AHL this season. In 62 games, he has an impressive 26 goals to go along with 46 points. As a result of his strong offensive production, he has earned this recall, and his goal will now be to try to make an impact with the Coyotes during this final stretch.
The Coyotes selected Doan with the 37th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The expectation is that he will become an impactful NHL player later down the road, and now he is getting his first shot to show the Coyotes what he can do. Let's see how much of an impact he can make from here.
