Details Revealed on Why Jacob Markstrom Trade to the Devils Fell Through
The New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames had a deal in place to send goaltender Jacob Markstrom to the Devils for a package of picks/players, however there was a giant mystery on how all of a sudden at the 11th hour, the deal fell through.
Early reports were that the Devils were fine to take Markstrom on, but wanted the Flames to retain salary, however those details may not be the case at all. Hockey insider Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff recently shed some light on the situation after Markstrom came out over last weekend and admitted he's not very happy with upper management on how things have been handled this far.
It doesn't sound like this was Flames GM Craig Conroy's fault at all, here's more from Seravalli:

Look for Markstrom to stay in Calgary for the rest of this season as they try to sneak in the playoffs and considering how his relationship with the organization is now damaged, a summer trade could very much be in the works when there are more suitors lined up for the Swedish netminder.
