Devils' Colin Miller & Brendan Smith Could Be Moved

It has been a disappointing season for the New Jersey Devils. They were expected to be contenders, but they are currently do not hold a playoff spot and are likely to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline because of it. Star winger Tyler Toffoli has been creating a lot of chatter in the rumor mill, but he is not the only Devil who could be traded on deadline day.

Per NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Devils are also listening to offers for defensemen Colin Miller and Brendan Smith.

Miller, 31, is a veteran defenseman who should generate some interest over the next handful of hours. This is because he is a solid right-shot defenseman who provides steady defensive play to go along with physicality. In 41 games this season, he has four goals, eight points, 79 hits, and a plus-10 rating.

As for Smith, 35, he will surely grab the attention of playoff teams looking to add more snot to their lineup. With that, he offers great versatility, as he can also play on the wing. As a result, he is simply a good depth player to consider adding. In 44 games this season with the Devils, he has three goals, nine points, and 82 hits.

It will be intriguing to see if the Devils end up moving these two players before the deadline passes from here.
