Ducks Will Trade 2 More UFAs At Deadline
The Anaheim Ducks are not guaranteed to trade any player that isn't on an expiring contract, so Frank Vatrano, Trevor Zegras, and any others who the team may be getting calls on won't be moved unless the price is exactly what the team wants and no lower. This happened with Adam Henrique not being traded last season.
That being said, there are a couple of UFAs that will have to be dealt or be lost in free agency. These two players are Henrique and Sam Carrick. The Ducks are at the bottom of the standings with no hope of playoffs, so naturally they are willing to sell. Henrique is going to continue to get lots of attention until he is dealt since he can play both center and wing. His strong faceoff percentage and veteran presence makes him a high valued target that can make a difference both offensively and defensively as well.
While Carrick can also play center and the wing and is a veteran, he has much less NHL experience. He can provide a little depth scoring, but what a team would be after him for is his physicality as the 6'2 player has 127 hits and 90 penalty minutes in 61 games.
The Ducks seem to be better off this season than last when it comes to options to sell. At the very least, they should get some decent draft picks back for their UFAs that are likely to be traded in the coming days.
