Flyers Trade Rumors: 3 Teams Linked To Sean Walker As It Comes Down to the Wire

With contract talks seemingly slowing down between the Philadelphia Flyers and impending unrestricted free agent Sean Walker, it appears, according to one insider, that "it's more likely than not that he does get moved".

Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic indicates that talks with at least two Canadian teams have picked up in recent days.

I’m told action started to pick up with teams circling back and getting more serious on Walker. That doesn’t mean he will for sure get dealt as the Philadelphia Flyers aren’t moving him for what they deem to be a lackluster return. It’s been quiet for a few days between the Flyers and Walker’s camp on extension talks. I think the Flyers will circle back one last time there.

So all the balls are up in the air, but the (latest) word... is that calls with teams were gaining traction... The Toronto Maple Leafs and the (Edmonton) Oilers have kept tabs with Philly, including over the last few days.

Doubling down on this report is fellow insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, who has heard the exact same things about Walker, including the Toronto and Edmonton interest.

The Maple Leafs have already added one defenseman in recent days, Ilya Lyubushkin, but are anxious to further remake their blueline with another solid contributor, and Walker could be it.

The Oilers have already added two forward, so we'll see if they have room to add a defenseman as well.

But late word this afternoon is that the Colorado Avalanche have now become top contenders to land Walker as well.
