Kings Rumors: 3 Possible Offseason Suitors for Cam Talbot
Cam Talbot is arguably the top pending UFA goalie heading into the 2024 NHL Offseason. Because of this, he should attract interest around the NHL if he hits the market. Let's review three teams that could look to sign the veteran goaltender now.
Los Angeles Kings: Talbot has played well for the Kings this season, so they could look to keep him around past this season. This is especially so when noting that their goalie depth after him is not particularly strong. Thus, don't be surprised if they try to get extended over the next few months.
Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs are likely going to look to add a goalie this offseason. Both Ilya Samsonov and Martin Jones have expiring deals, so bringing in a veteran like Talbot could make sense for them. He would have the potential to serve well in a 1A/1B tandem with young netminder Joseph Woll.
Colorado Avalanche: There is no question that the Colorado Avalanche could use a bit more support between the pipes. Alexandar Georgiev has been getting too many starts this season and could benefit by being in a 1A/1B tandem with Talbot. Along with that, it was established that the Avs were looking for goalie help at the deadline, so it would not be surprising if they looked at Talbot in free agency.
